Hiding
Her smile masks the loneliness,
Her laugh masks the depression,
Her makeup covers the tears,
Her very being is a show.
Her expensive clothes masks the poverty,
Her bright eyes hide the days of insomnia,
Her steady hands cover the insecurities.
Her actions are faked with ease.
Too bad that no one was able to see,
Able to look past the show,
And realize,
Her robotic ways,
To hide pieces of herself she didn’t want seen.
